Memories of those yesteryears, challenges confronted and fought,
Dark reflections mirrored in his present…”Fight bravely like a lion” they sang and so he did! And with that lion determination, and so he pushed!
Scrounging through their thorns of scorns, he danced to their chants, “give, give and give” and so he did!
And so their ravenous hunger beckoned for more, and with that ache of consumption they journeyed!
And so he danced in that endless cycle, in his bid to quench their incessant music of hunger and thirst,
And as he is subsumed by his thinning bones, they drift on with that new song “he has no more to give”..
